Certificate
Aim of the Certificate Course
Should you decide to broaden your understanding of the subject, it may be of interest for you to know that during the course you will be supplied with a comprehensive manual covering all aspects of the training – and so no further purchases are required to understand the subject at the current level taught. The aim of the Certificate Course is to equip the student with the skills to be able to help those wishing to address a wide range of issues including stress, smoking, and weight etc, whilst the Diploma Course deals with progressively more complex psychosomatic conditions.
It should be noted that to qualify for the Diploma Course you would need to pass a Certificate Course Examination. The requirements to sit the examination would be to complete three study supervision sessions, one after each module, at £35 per session, and, of course, complete the Certificate Course, of which an 80% attendance is required. The examination fee is £50, with a pass mark required before being accepted to study at Diploma level. This, of course, would be at your discretion as you may wish to attend the course before making that decision. Part of the Certificate Course is to help students to understand the effect that the language we use can have on others; without either party consciously being aware of the dramatic consequences these words may have. Why is it that we feel drawn to and motivated by one person, and yet drained and frustrated when we share another's company? This subject is comprehensively covered in both courses.
The first assignment of the Certificate Course is to rewrite a script with the view to achieving a more beneficial outcome. Tutoring throughout the course and during supervision (if required) is designed to place the student in a position to gain greater effect from communication which can be demonstrated in the assignment. Most of us would agree that we might benefit from an improved memory; indeed this subject is addressed at each weekend with guidance and examples to experience, again this new knowledge may be expressed in a short assignment. Full support and advice is offered to the student whilst studying. The aim of the tutors is to assist each student in achieving their full potential.
Accreditation
The Certificate and Diploma Courses are accredited by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (the NCH), which includes the Hypnotherapy Register.
The NCH are founder members of the UK confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (registering/accrediting). The NCH are an independent regulating body committed to excellence in training and professional development.
They accredit training schools but have no ties with any particular school ensuring that all members provide a competent, ethical service.
What you can expect from the certificate course
Our aim for you, once having completed the Certificate Course, is to be proficient in the following:
- Self-Hypnosis. To be able to hypnotise yourself by inducing a deep state of relaxation, which you may use for personal progress and stress management.
- Smoking Cessation. You will be able to help others to cease smoking using hypnosis. Weight Control. With the aid of hypnosis you will be able to help people lose weight and adopt healthy eating habits.
- Stress Management. You will be able to help people to control their own anxiety levels, and increase self-esteem. We are all able to achieve more, when we feel good about ourselves.
- Control. Real control is about developing the skills to be relaxed during stressful moments. The Certificate Course is very much about realising this individual potential.
- Blind Spots. Previous graduates have noticed that they have become aware of thought patterns and behaviour which have held them back in the past. This understanding has allowed those students to make the changes required to achieve their aims.
Clinical Supervision
In the initial stages supervision is predominantly tutorial and designed to support and guide the student, with course work and subject practice.
During the Diploma Course a minimum of twelve supervision sessions are required to be eligible to sit the Diploma examination. It should be noted that students studying at Diploma level, may wish to begin to practice as trainee hypnotherapists in certain non‑clinical cases such as confidence, stress management, smoking and slimming. Whilst previous students have been able to partially finance their studies through their gained skills, this may only be achieved through strict clinical supervision – with the student belonging to an approved Independent Governing Body and covered by full Professional Indemnity Insurance.
